Read this out of sheer curiosity. Always been a Sarah Bernhardt fan, so suprised when I discovered she had authored (or co-authored) a novel. Prime melodrama - would expect nothing less. Great literature? No. A fun soap-opera story that Bernhardt would have played the lead in? Absolutely. Duels, broken hearts, deaths from simple sadness. Its all there. Wonderful if taken with the right attitude.
