We're the D'Artigo sisters: half-human, half-Fae, we're sexy, we're savvy and we just turned in our badges to the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. My sister Camille is a wicked good witch. Delilah's a werecat and blossoming Death Maiden. And as for me? I'm Menolly, acrobat extraordinaire turned vampire. But being a vamp isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially when the G...more

Ninth in the Otherworld / Sisters of the Moon urban fantasy series rotating between the three sisters' points-of-view. Based in Seattle, the POV here is from Mennolly.

My Take
Whoa...big changes in this one. It's a combination of tying up loose ends and setting up new possibilities. I think this is one of the better ones in this series. Of course, it could be because there are so many interesting positives happening with what Roman reveals about his intentions and desires; Erin's freedom; and, Men...more

2 1/2 Stars. I am shocked to only rate this book two and a half stars. I thought it over many times but I honestly did not like this book that much. It was not for the reasons some have about Nerissa and Menolly's relationship. I could care less about two females being in a relationship. You love who you love and do not have to answer to anyone unless you love children or farm animals. :) I feel their sex scenes are a little rushed and could be much more pleasurable for the readers involved with...more

The Sisters of the Moon are back and this time, Menolly’s the prime focus. She’s got a lot of tough choices ahead, but hopefully everything will fall into place (as best it can). Menolly does worry that the paths the sisters are on will lead them apart, but every path can lead to the same destination. The sisters work best together and they’re just one big family – with their own sets of issues – but a wonderful dynamic that makes the stories so wonderful to read over and over again. Blood Wyne...more

If you have not read this series yet, I would suggest starting at the beginning (Witchling) because all of the books build upon one another. The series is about three sister and alternates which sister is telling the story, this one is told from Menolly's POV. Menolly is a vampire who is finally starting to accept who she is and that she can be loved as who she is. In this story, Menolly is going after a vampire serial killer that is on the loose in their town. But runs into some problems when t...more
Kt from A Book Obsession..

When a vampire serial killer starts rampaging through the city, Menolly knows it's only a matter of time before the humans start fighting back in retaliation, putting all vamps in danger. She sets out to stop the killer before he finds another victim, but when the group tracks him to a section of the city with some serious poltergeist activity, she quickly realizes they are way over their heads. She seeks out Roman, a ancient vampire, and asks him for help. He agrees, but his price comes at a sh...more

I won an ARC of this book in a contest and as I wasn't familiar with Galenorn's worlds, I read it far more confused than her fans will be. This is the 9th book in her Otherworld Series. The characters and their "species" and the backstory/history of the world has obviously been explained in previous books. Coming into the middle as I did made for some scrambling to keep up, despite the glossary and list of characters in the back of the book. There were other elements not to my specific tastes th...more

So much happened in this book. Hell so much happened in between books too. I think the biggest thing was with Sassy Brandson. She apparently was see by Menolly's daughter, giving in to her predator. This was not the first time and in the end Menolly had to uphold her promise to her friend. Quite sad. Also we see that Menolly is finally becoming a responsible parent and making some decisions that a parent should consider beyond housing and allowing another to do all the parenting. But that is jus...more

If you haven't read anything by Yasmine Galenorn I really suggest that you do! This is book 9 in the series. A word of warning to readers, these book have NO closed door policy for the characters love scenes. The sisters have multiple partners and there is a same sex relationship. If you have no issues with either of these they are fantastic romantic urban fantasy reads that keep you wanting more!

Ok Roman=HOTNESS!!! LOL Seriously these girls get all the yummy morsels! I loved the fact that there were different dynamics that made them each have thier own thing going on, but at the same time they still held that bond that nothing would ever come between them! I really want more of Shade though that scene where Menolly walked in to get kitten and shade drew a blade on her in the nude...OMG yes! I did feel bad for vanzir in this one though....he got it rough and I'm glad that the girls under...more

I enjoy this series and the sisters have really grown on me. I love that the first person POV switches between sisters in a rotation book by book. It mixes things up enough to allow me to read them fairly close together. The overreaching story arc, finding the spirit seals before the big, bad Shadow Wing’s demon henchmen - allows these three girls, who were never quite perfect enough while growing up, are now on the forefront of a war and are shown to be favored by powerful gods and immortal cre...more

I can't believe I'm 9 books into this series! I am really enjoying how this series is evolving, and that each of the 1/2 human, 1/2 Fae D'Artigo sisters' lives have changed and grown in responsibilities. I think Menolly, the sister who was killed and turned into a vampire against her will, has grown the most!

>If you have yet to read these books, what are you waiting for?? One of the things i enjoy the most about these books, is that they are each told from the POV from one of the sisters. Th...more

Again had the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of the D'Artigo sisters and their ongoing adventures... This time the story is told from Menolly's POV and she comes across as stronger, wiser and more balanced than in any book thus far! I loved the power structure that she formed with Roman, the fact that she and her Were Puma lover Nerissa are finally allowing themselves to become more than just "friends with benefits" and the emerging power that Chase displays in this installment is ve...more

Book 9 -Well personally it fell a little flat for me, I think I'm just bored of the premise & you know exactly what your going to get. Sometimes you can keep series running too long, there was no progression as far as main plot goes, felt like a filler. Though I must say I did like the antagonist Ivana Krask. Found the way Menolly fell into another relationship unrealistic & totally out of character.
Won't be be following the rest of the series because I just don't care any more. The con...more

This book was pretty good. I was glad that she is spending less time recapping what has happened & who everyone is in previous books. I was a little surprised how much Camille was in this book since it was supposed to be Menolly's book. Usually the other two sisters are very minor characters, but we spent a lot of time dealing with Camille and her men. I was a little disappointed with the introduction of Roman. We now have another major player to deal with. I also felt that this book was kin...more

I think the story in this one just held a lot less interest for me. The book felt sort of formulaic to be honest, and when I think about it the last few did too. There's like an opening action scene where they're called by Chase unexpectedly to deal with something and it leads into what ends up being the overall plot for that book. Meh. I think it's a little disturbing how condescending the sisters are to humans now, how low their general opinion is towards humanity. On the one hand they're figh...more

This book centered on Menolly, the vampire sister. She's hated herself and what she is in previous books. In this one she really starts to like herself and accept what she is. It's her turn to lead the fight against evil demons this time, though this book doesn't involve a spirit seal. It's vanquishing evil spirits that have evolved into evil entities that can kill people. Also, it involves hunting down a new rogue vampire that has become a serial killer. It was a good listen, the narrator reall...more

This is now my favorite Menolly Book. She has grown so much throughout the series. She has had to move on from a horrific past and it is so nice to see her open herself up a little and watch her change. There is a decent amount of action in BLOOD WYNE as well as some sexy scenes. Lots of things happen in BLOOD WYNE that I think are going to shake up all the sisters lives and affect future books. A new character that is introduced is definitely...more

Meh. I'd buy its related titles in digital format for $4ish. The worldbuilding was good and several character concepts were very interesting. Decent urban fantasy romance but there was very little character development in the face of ongoing plot. Easily triggered survivors of sexual trauma and abuse may want to avoid the title as it pops up without warning in a few places, and possibly the series for the same reason.

All that said, note to authors: finally having good sex with the gender you had...more

The HVIC [Head Vampire In Charge] is Back!

I strongly recommend you read this series in order (Witchling, Changeling, Darkling, Dragon Wytch, Night Huntress, Demon Mistress, Bone Magic and Harvest Hunting) prior to reading this installment.

This was a bloody Good Read! Menolly's behavior in this installment was night and day compared to the disappointing twit she turned into in Demon Mistress. She has redeemed herself in my eyes. In this installment, she is in complete control of herself and she's...more

I will start off by saying Blood Wyne is a great paranormal novel full of interesting characters, sensational sex, and fighting scenes that leave you reeling. However, if you have not read all of Ms. Galenorn’s other novels in this series I feel you may be lost at times. I know I have read a couple of her other books in this series and I found myself trying to figure out what I missed by not reading the whole string of novels. Even with the air of confusion surrounding me at times, I still had p...more

Blood Wyne is an urban fantasy, paranormal romance. There are three D'Artigo sisters: half-human and half-fae. One is a witch, one a werecat, and one is a vampire. In Blood Wyne, the vampire Menolly takes center stage. There is a vampire serial killer on the loose in Seattle. Hungry ghosts are tearing up the town, people are scared, an elder Fae makes herself known and one of the oldest most powerful vampires in town has his eyes on Menolly. The D'Artigo sisters and their cohorts are never dull...more

Since this is the most recent book in this series release, I will review the overall series too. The first book was a little rough, but I though each book got progressively better. I enjoyed each personality development of each sister. The only person who I did not think really changed much was Camille, but I havent' read Dragon Wytch yet, so I may have missed something along the way. I love how Delilah and Menolly evolved in almost opposite ways. This book really brings to circle Menolly's emot...more

Way to go Menolly!!!!!! I am so happy that this book made her character less bitter and more comfortable with all of the parts of herself. Menonlly, in the first two books spent most of her time angry about both the way in which she was turned, reacting to the fact that she was a vampire. In this book she has found love and the self respect that she sooooo richly deserves.
Her character is the personification duality. She has both a male and female love. She is a vampire whose heart lives in th...more

I like the universe and the characters but something bugs me (hence only 3 stars). Whoever is the MC among the three sisters, the two other sisters are automatically "followers". I get that the MC is supposed to show the way but I doubt that one would switched role that easily (considering the three have really "grown up" since the beginning). I would expect some kind of opposition or at least more discussion/exchanges on strategy between the three before they take action. :)

This was the first time in months that I actually got to sit down and read one of Yasmine Galenorn's books. I was not disappointed. It seems that with each new book in this series, Yasmine gets better and better and the relationships get jucier and jucier. Menolly, though not being my favorite sister, has a good backstory and the way her mind thinks (though a little TOO rough at times) is very, very attractive.

The reason that I'm giving this book only 3/5 stars is due to the fact that, no matter...more

This book is actually not bad at all. So far its about this vampire who has been trying to figure out who this vampire serial killer is. Her and her friends are on the case because each person that they find dead is myserious because they each all look alike.
Its a really mysterious/creepy book also really scary. Like a book where you dont know whats going to happen next and i like that.
