Commercial photographer Tom McCall is horrified to learn that his business partner, Bobbi, has been badly beaten and left for dead at one of Vancouver’s Granville Island marinas. Tom’s worries deepen, however, when he realizes that Bobbi’s attacker might not be done with her. While I really enjoyed Depth Of Field as an excellent murder mystery, this time with an actual murder or two, I didn't find it quite as
humourous as Michael Blair's first two novels in this series. There are the usual collection of outrageous characters and Tom McCall bumbles around in almost the same uncoordinated way as in the first two books but here he actually does some serious detecting and even seems to have some idea of how to follow up various clues of which there are many. The ending,
This is part of a "local" series of mystery books and it was actually pretty decent.

A hard-boiled photographer sends his partner off to take some pictures of a yacht, only things don't turn out so well for her.

One of my new favourite pleasure reads, Michael Blair's character is entertaining and the story telling is great.
