This is a fantasy tale of a man who was either the world's greatest conman, or a reluctant buddha (or perhaps both.) For those of you looking for a light breezy read, beware! This is a slow, thoughtful book, clearly based on a lot of New Age concepts about what it means to be fully human. There are echoes of Carlos Castaneda's book ("The Teachings of Don Juan") as well. 3.5 stars I guess? I really don't know how I felt about this. I'm glad to be done with it but it wasn't like... bad or anything.

Bizarre New Age/Paranormal/Illuminanti pot-boiler. I read this as a teenager and found it hugely entertaining, partly because I've never read anything like it before or since. You might want to give it a chance..
