Write-in Candidates Added as 2010 Goodreads Choice Awards NomineesPosted by Jessica on December 21, 2010
We have added the top five write-in candidates in 23 categories as Official Nominees for the 2010 Goodreads Choice Awards! These awards are all about what readers want, so we believe the write-in option is an essential component of the voting process. These new nominees now appear on the polls for the final ten days of voting.
More than 125,000 votes have been cast so far. Did your favorite book become a nominee? See the full list of nominees here!
Readers have shown overwhelming support for their favorite books and authors, writing in votes for both bestsellers and small press releases. Additions to the Favorite Book of 2010 category include Emma Donaghue's Room and David Mitchells's The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. Stephen King picked up a Mystery & Thriller nomination for Full Dark, No Stars, and David Sedaris's Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk was added to the Humor category. These big name authors are joined by first-time authors such as Jennifer DeLucy, nominated in Paranormal Fantasy for Seers of Light, and Felicia Day, nominated in Graphic Novels & Comics for The Guild. President Barack Obama even earned a nomination in Picture Books for Of Thee I Sing: A Letter To My Daughters.
Goodreads launched the second annual Goodreads Choice Awards on December 1, 2010. Polls close on December 31, 2010, so don't wait. Vote now, and spread the word to your friends. Don't let your favorite book come in second!
Winners will be announced in the January Goodreads newsletter.
