What's the funniest novel ever?
posted by Otis on September, 17 1

The New York Times posted an interesting article the other day titled Whats the funniest novel ever?. They had some good ideas, most of which I must admit I haven't read. Although I was surprised that my pick, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, wasn't listed!

I was immediately curious what Listopia would show - and was happy to see that members have created a pretty comprehensive Best Humorous Books list. The current winner? Me Talk Pretty One Day.

762487 David Sedaris doesn't write "novels". So he shouldn't qualify for the category. Sedaris writes vignettes around personal experiences that do not qualify his compilations as novels.

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller is one of my favorite humorous novels.

Nophoto-m-25x33 Yes, definitely Hitchhiker's Guide and anything written by David Sedaris. He's got a hillarious story titled "6 to 8 black men", which is a great Christmas story. I've never really "read" him; I used to listen audio books alot. He narrated his own writing so that added a great deal to my enjoyment of them.
