30 million books added
posted by Otis on September, 11
This week we reached 30 million books added to member profiles - a monumental number!
The 30 millionth book was The Crucible by Arthur Miller and was added by Paul, a Goodreads member with 37 books.
About 10% of the books added have an associated review. We don't know how many reviews other sites out there have, but if we take for example Stephanie Meyers new Breaking Dawn book, we see that Goodreads has 7,410 reviews, and Amazon has 3,062. Not bad! If you're into Twilight don't forget to check out the Twilight Lovers group.
There are over half a million books marked as currently-reading. The currently-reading shelf is a great barometer of which books are popular - it reads like a list of best-sellers, except it's based on what members are actually reading, instead of what they are buying. We find that to be pretty cool.
