Gotta tell you, having to wait two years between books has not been a thrill. My debut thriller, KISS HER GOODBYE, came out in 2007 in the U.S. and the next one was due to be released around February or March of 2008.
Then my publishers, my agent and I had a talk and we decided that the world would be a better place if we took my books straight to paperback. The reason?
I can only speak for myself: I prefer paperbacks. I like their size and portability and the fact that when I'm lying bed I don't have to prop the book up to read it.
Plus I like the price. Can't beat the price. Paperback books are the best entertainment value out there right now.
So, anyway, because of the change, my publishing house -- St. Martins Press -- had to move me over to the paperback schedule and that's how WHISPER IN THE DARK wound up being released two years after the first book.
In the meantime, it was published in hardback in the UK -- you'll see that blue/black cover art floating around here somewhere -- around May of last year, so now a lot of people think I'm a British author.
The Browne thing doesn't help... :)
But at least the wait is over and I'm thrilled that WHISPER has finally been released.
Those who live in the L.A. area and want a signed copy, be sure to come to my signing this Saturday, March 7 @ 2pm at Mysteries to Die For in Thousand Oaks.

I'm happy to announce that my latest thriller, KILL HER AGAIN, has been released in the US. Here's the blurb:
Ever since a close call with death, FBI Agent Anna McBride has been having strange visions of a kidnapped little girl... a little girl who is about to be murdered. Is she going crazy? When Anna is assigned to a multiple homicide case, her visions recur with an even fiercer frequency...and she can't shake the feeling that what she's seeing is somehow connected to this latest grisly crime.
When Anna meets Daniel Pope, a hypnotist who's no stranger to the paramormal, he suggests the impossible: that the girl in her visions is Anna in a past life.
But Anna refuses to believe Pope -- until she finds herself face to face with the killer from her nightmares. Now she must go into the dark recesses of her mind and relive the horrors of her past to find a diabolical psychopath who won't rest until he kills her again...
