I love being part of GoodReads. I was part of a very fun cross promotion with other authors and bloggers.
David Fleming contacted me to say that I am the winner of the Cross Promotional Champion of 2013.

I am honoured to receive the award below.

Thanks to David for setting up the GoodReads Cross Promo event. I enjoyed meeting new authors and sharing their tweets.

I will continue to share the promos indefinitely. It doesn't hurt to share. :)

For those of you who do not know what the heck I am talking about, here is the promotion details below.

DETAILS OF THE CROSS PROMOTIONAL EVENT
-------------------------------------

Here's an opportunity to cross-promote on a larger scale!

This competition is open to authors, book bloggers and reviewers alike.

I will be participating in this competition but am excluded from winning the prize... which is to win the title of...

"Cross Promotional Champion of 2013"

(A badge will be later revealed and provided to the winner to display on their Goodreads profile, blogs or other social media sites.

Please add a comment to this event notice to further qualify your entry. I'll provide my entry as an example:

Goal: 500 to-reads for Growing up Wired (goals are optional)
Twitter: @twitteracct
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/authorname
Promo: "Add #mybook to your #Goodreads to-read shelf. It's free! http://bit.ly/123 @DWallacefleming #XP"

Basically, the rules of the game are to use each other's "promo"s to cross-promote each other on Twitter or your social media site of choice.

For Twitter, simply make sure that your cross-promo tweets include "@DWallaceFleming" and "#XP" so I can tally them from my account.

For all other social media cross-promotes, post a link to your promotional posts here in the comments of this event.

You don't need to cross-promote a participant of this competition, but they should be a relatively unknown author other than yourself.

Here's how the scoring works: Twitter mentions, Twitter retweets and other social media posts each count as one point.

There is no limit to how much you can cross-promote a certain author.

The participant with the most points at the end of this event wins the title, the badge and the glory.

I'll be looking this person up to inquire about future cross promotional exchanges and I suggest everyone else should do the same. They will have proved their cross-promotional awesomeness... "
