I have a couple of things to recap and some questions to answer and while I was thinking about those things, I realized I hadn’t done a blog post– not a real one–in a while. I have been so remiss! Bad Jen! Actually, I’ve been knee deep in deadlines.Like the kind where you don’t even talk to people on the phone kind of deadlines. Still am, but what should you do when you’re on a deadline? Do everything except write!
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what book I’m currently working on. That would be Frigid, the New Adult novel due out in Fall 2013 from SHP. Origin (the 4th book in the Lux Series) and Apollyon (the 4th book in the Covenant Series) are already written. Apollyon is due out April 2013 and Origin has a Summer 2013 release date. Not sure of the exact month. Speaking of Lux series, Opal (in both print and digital) releases on December 18, 2012. There was a week delay in processing due to Hurricane Sandy. Those attending the Houston Opal release party will be happy to know that Opal copies will be there! And there should be details, like time and location on the event in Houston coming up this week, so keep an eye out for that.
A big thank you to every one who nominated cities and voted. Each city did wonderful things and I wish there could be more than one winner.
Keep in mind, I do not send out ARCs or books to review in any situation and if a book is already released, you are most likely not going to get a book for review since they are available. I’ve been getting a lot of requests recently for books that have been out for awhile. Typically, books are only sent out for review by the publishers before it’s released. Also, for swag, please follow the instructions on my Extras page.
The Deity tour was super awesome. I got to meet a lot of awesome readers and cool authors along the way: Leigh Fallon, Kim Harrington.Kristi Cook, and Amalie Howard to just name a few. You can see some pics on my Facebook page. And while I’m talking about Deity related stuff, a big thank you to Good Choice Reading for doing signed copies for order doing the signing. That was a lot of work on their part and pretty damn awesome of them. Another big thank you to Valerie from Stuck In Books for organizing the amazing Deity Blog Tour. Girl, you rock. Hope you know that. And to Viv from Deity Island for doing the JLA reading challenge. All of you are so awesome.
The blurb for Apollyon and the back cover will be released soon. Yay! And the Opal trailer review will take place on Wednesday Nov. 21, 2012. You can sign up for the reveal HERE by Tuesday. 1:59pm EST. You must have a blog to reveal the trailer.
Onyx and I have made it to the semi-final rounds of the Goodreads Reader’s Choice award. Guys, seriously, thank you so, so much for voting for Onyx and me. I am truly blown away by this. I owe it all to you amazing readers.
Onyx was also nominated by RT Magazine YA Science Fiction and Fantasy. I think the results are announced in 2013 and that is also a huge honor. So a big thank you to the editors at RT for thinking Onyx was worthy of a nomination out of all the amazing books pub’d this year.
I’ve read two amazing books yet to be released and you guys will love From Ashes by Molly McAdams (Harper Collins December 2012) and Velvet from Em Gardner (Egmont Summer 2013). These books were awesome. Add them to your TBR piles immediately.
I won’t be doing anymore POV scenes from Daemon, Aiden or Seth for awhile, mainly due to a bottleneck in deadlines that I have right now, but don’t worry, I’m sure there will be some cute POV scenes in earlier 2013.
The first chapter of Opal will be released during the blog tour. More info on that coming soon.
I know I’m forgetting something, but I should be writing right now so I can finish these books on time. I hope you guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving if you celebrate it!
And in closing, I still use rather and whether incorrectly. Those two words are the bane of my existence.
