It’s one of those days where I feel like I need this song, piped into my veins: We’ve suffered a complete babysitting collapse over here, which means I’m all mom, all the time, until … we hire someone, I guess. Which we’ve been trying to do for a month. And my husband is out of town. *dies* On the other hand, there’s this: I took Kidlet to one of those farms you can visit this morning. He was cheerfully terrified of the baby goats, and he spent half an hour being spooky in the corn field. It was all very adorable. Everybody says, “Enjoy them while they’re young.” And I always want to say, “Yes, I’ll get right on that, as soon as I’ve slept for eight hours and caught up on my work and gotten some exercise, and also I need to make dinner and clean that mystery stain off the carpet over there, and—” I know. I’m trying. It’s harder than it sounds. So here’s your assignment this week: instead of answering a question, take a sentence or two in the comments to appreciate something you usually don’t spare the time for. I’ll choose a random commenter tomorrow morning to win a $10 gift certificate to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or iTunes, winner’s choice.
