One of the neat things about places like Goodreads is that it gives a person the perfect excuse to fritter away enormous amounts of time doing what is basically busy work. And yet this busy work can, just maybe, fire off a synapse or two that might, just might, lead to some productive new work. Doubtful, but maybe. We will see what, if anything, good comes of me filling my bookshelf here. I have set myself a goal of entering every book in the house that I have read. Should be a pretty good fistful. And maybe as I do this I will happen across a volume or two that has escaped my attention and it can be put back on the To Be Read list. Or maybe I will be inspired to revisit and long forgotten favorite. Or perhaps just the title of a book will trigger a great idea that will help me spring out of a writing quagmire of my own.
Or it will simply burn up precious hours and all I'll have is a list.
