Just back from San Diego Comic Con – an impossible city that only exists 5 days out of the year, a bit like Brigadoon – and still riding on the sugar high. While I was there, Things Happened. Here are some updates, with minimal commentary:

*   *   *

This fall, Mandalay Pictures and Red Granite will be filming HORNS, with Alexandre Aja behind the camera, and this guy in front of it, starring as Ig:

It probably goes without saying that I’m amped beyond all rational measure. I could not be happier about the casting of Daniel Radcliffe as Ig Perrish. My fanboy feelings for the Harry Potter pictures are well-established, but aside from that, I thought Woman in Black was one of the best horror films of the last decade, and the picture worked because of Radcliffe’s quietly focused performance. I hope HORNS serves the kid just as well.

More casting news in the near future.

This is out:

 Shadow Show, edited by Sam Weller and Mort Castle, is an anthology of stories honoring Ray Bradbury. I’ve got a new story in there, “By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain,” alongside shorts by a whole heap of great writers. Very grateful to be a part of the collection, which is a celebration of a remarkable American creator, one of the defining voices of 20th century F & SF.

 And this dropped a couple days ago:

Part II of “In The Tall Grass,” a story I wrote with my pa, appears in the latest issue of Esquire magazine. Don’t let the grass grow under your feet. Go check it out.

Cheryl Hey Joe, I've always wanted to say that, where could I find Part I of In The Tall Grass?

Excited about both Daniel Radcliffe in Horns and the Ray Bradbury Anthology.
