It will probably not surprise you to know that 4 is a special number for me-- not only is it the name of Four, but it's also my favorite number, for whatever reason, just because it seems even in a way that other numbers are not. (I told you, it's weird inside this brain. Just roll with it.)

Therefore it is with 4-related delight that I announce that this is Divergent's 4th week on the NYT Children's Paperback Bestseller list! This week at #3!
[image error](source) (source)Okay. So.

To celebrate week #4, I am going to give away some stuff.

And by "stuff," I really mean:

(yes, you heard me right) and

4 DIVERGENT Paperbacks

to a total of

4 Winners (who will get one of each book)

ending at exactly

4:44 P.M.

on the

4th day of April,

which is the

4th month of the year.

And it will be international.

How's that for a celebration?

All you have to do is respond to this post with the faction you would have been born into (that is, the one that most closely fits your upbringing) and the faction you would choose.'s fun. (Okay, if that doesn't sound fun, you can just respond to this post.) And then check back here in a week to see if you won!

Author Out.

*To clarify, because some have asked: if you haven't read the book yet, but still want to enter, either just respond to the post in any way you choose, or look up the faction names and make your best guess! Either way is fine.

*Also, only one entry per person, pleeeease and thank you.

message 1: by Janice (new)

Janice Hill Would have been born into Amity and chosen Euridite (kind of unfortunately).

message 2: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Liston I would've been born into Abnegation but would've chosen Erudite!

message 3: by Mariana (new)

Mariana Hmmm... This is harder than it seems. I would probably be Divergent and had chosen to be with the Erudite just because I am interested in books and learning but would not have been happy there and I would have ran away. I would probably cross paths with Tris when she goes to see her brother. Instead of finding her brother at once she would have notice that I was trying to sneak out and would have approached me. I would have tried to ran away from her but since she has been training with Four(Tobias) she would stop me. Then to make the story short she will offer me assistance to hide in the city as factionles. I don't know what I would do after. Either go with her and hide or just go by myself. But I do know that I'm a rebel inside so no matter what Eric and Jeanine tried to do. I would join Tris and her rebel army to fight the war. And finally I would definitely be called Three because that's my favorite number and I also have three reasons to be brave like Tris: Hope,Love, and Divergent.

............ To be continued........

message 7: by Jorelle (last edited Mar 28, 2012 10:43PM) (new)

Jorelle I think I would've been born in Amity and would have chosen to be in Abnegation because I believe that too much wisdom, braveness and honesty are some of the reasons that cause war, I mean, everyone wants to be brave, and one way of showing that is using it to others, like fighting. Everyone wants to be intelligent and in order to prove that, you must state facts that normal people wouldn't know, then you'll look boastful and overconfident, then everyone will start thinking bad of you and lastly, everyone wants to show themselves as honest, but we all know that honest people come rare. There are white lies after all. You might be saying them for the better but still, it's lying. So I choose being peace-loving then selfless because peace-lovers never start war do they? and selfless people think of the others first and no one wants war to be brought upon to them so obviously, they will not do that to others. =)

message 8: by Ellen (new)

Ellen Ramey I would have been born into Dauntless but feel certain I would be Divergent. Like Tris, my mother was also a Woman of strenth with many layers. I identify with Trish...and can hardly wait for Insurgent!

message 9: by Ash (new)

Ash I think I would have born into Dauntless because my family has always been very active and thrill seeking since I have been little. If I didn't stay in Dauntless, I would probably choose Erudite because I love learning and the worlds that books can open to you!

What a great giveaway!! I can't wait for Insurgent to come out :)

message 10: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Rosas I probably would have been born in Erudite, and chosen to stay there, though I might've jumped ship to Dauntless. I get the feeling my love for books would have won out, though, and I'd stay in Erudite... not entirely sure, though :P

Sophie I might be an erudite cause I grew up surrounded by lots of books and I love reading, bit I am a pretty honest person, so could be a candor as well. If I were to choose I would be choosing the books :)

message 14: by Tracy (new)

Tracy I think I would've born in Amity, because my life is peaceful and I'm thankful for that c: . However, i feel like I belong in Candor, because I'm a pretty honest person, but if i were to choose which fraction to be in, I'd stay in Amity because I can't bear the fact of being away from my lovely family. :D

message 15: by Marimirl (new)

Marimirl I would choose erudite, because I loved studying, I love finding out about new things, but I don't know in wich fraction I would be born in. That's really difficult. I guess also erudite, because for my family my education was always the most important thing.

Jadie i have been born Abnegation but chosen Dauntless

message 17: by Kristen (new)

Kristen I would have been born into Amity. My mother's side of the family is a don't talk about negative things or anything bad kind of people. And I think that formed me a lot into being the opposite. I tend to speak my mind loud and proud while generally not using a filter. So I would want to transfer to Candor. Honesty is where it's at!

message 18: by Emma (new)

Emma I think I would've been born Erudite and chosen Erudite. My brother and I are both enthusiastic learners, and my family supports that :) (Dauntless sounds so amazing, but realistically I am not brave...)

Kelli Hayes I would have been born into Abnegation (with both my parents being so self-less) but would have chosen Dauntless in the end. (I actually think my mother could have been Dauntless too but chose like Tris's mother. ^.^)

message 33: by hpboy13 (new)

hpboy13 I think I would've been born into Erudite and probably would've stayed there, which would've ended pretty badly for me, I guess. Maybe if I'd known all the horrible things Erudite was up to, I would've gone to Amity instead.

Liz Born into an Abnegation family, but would've chosen Candor. Truth sets you free. :)

message 42: by Li (new)

Li I think I would have been born into Candor. My family values honesty at all times. They've instilled that in me and I try to speak the truth at all times.
At my choosing ceremony, I would chose Dauntless. I'm extremely cautious with my behavior. I try and analyze situations from all angles before moving forward. It would be great to just JUMP into something (pun intended). Also, this recent New Year's Eve, at the age of 31, I got my first tattoo...and now I'm kind of hooked. Already planning my second one. :)

message 43: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne Definitely born into a crazy Candor family! And the older I get, the more I feel comfortable with candor; however, I would have chosen Erudite -- I love learning. Dauntless would have scared the beejeebees out of me.

message 44: by Mariana (new)

Mariana I would definitely have been born into Erudite, since my family really values knowledge. Also, I would have stayed there, because I love reading more than anything.
Erudite is just perfect for me! :)

message 45: by Dena (new)

Dena I would have been born into Erudite!!!!

message 46: by Crissy (new)

Crissy I would have born into Abnegation and would have chosen Erudite. Although as cautious and scared as I am of everything I probably shouldve chosen Dauntless.

message 47: by Daniela (new)

Daniela I would have been in Candor, but I chose Erudite!

message 48: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I would have been in Erudite and then might choose Amity...but I might stay in Erudite. Gah...hard I know why Tris had a hard time!

message 49: by Melody (new)

Melody McBride I think I would've been born into Amity or Abnegation, and I would've chosen Amity for myself. I've always thought that heart and kindness should rule over just about everything else. If we were all kind to each other, the world would be a much different place.

message 50: by Hussa (new)

Hussa I would have been in Erudite and then I may choose Amity :p.
