If there's one thing I totally suck at (and let's be kind to me and leave it at this one, at least for now), it's the self-promotion thing.

When it comes to posting stuff on Facebook or whatever, I try to keep the words of my pal Don Adams in mind: you've gotta bring material, like you're going on Carson. I hate to just make a post and say "Woo! Buy my book!" But sometimes that's what I do. Other times I try to prey on the sympathy of anyone reading my posts by mentioning that book sales help keep the Chihuahua fed.

But none of that stuff really works, and it makes me feel like a tool, to boot.

So here's something: I'm looking for some folks to read and review Part 1 of my 8-part serial novel, PETE, DRINKER OF BLOOD. If you promise to review it, I'll send you a free copy -- epub, mobi, or pdf, your choice. But you have to review it somewhere -- Goodreads, Amazon, Smashwords (or maybe copy/paste to all three).

PETE is a vampire story, but it's not the usual thing: it's my vampire story, and that means lots of humor, classic rock references, and oddball stuff. I've heard a person or two compare it to Christopher Moore's books, which I've never read, so I can't say how accurate that might be.

Part 1 is about 8000 words long, so it's not a huge investment of time.

Just lemme know if you want a copy, and what format you prefer. I might have to get an email address from you, too, since I don't know if I can attach files to Goodreads messages.

I really appreciate it (and so does the Chihuahua)!

Adam Drat! You do this AFTER I buy it!

It's next on my reading list, and I'll be reviewing here, amazon and b&n.

Scott Phillips I should probably mention that this offer has expired, although if you run a review blog I'll still be happy to send you a copy of PETE...
