One of my favorite book to understand US financial meltdown in 2008 and European sovereign debt crisis is "Bernanke's Test" by Johan van Overtveldt. I bought this book during a bargain in Periplus. I bought the hardcover book only for 40,000 IDR ($3.2) or less if I'm not mistaken (the original price is $26 and I saw this was sold in Kinokuniya about $30).

This book is fairly readable for casual reader, I suggest you to pick basic economic...
