I have a small studio I write in, but I must admit, it's not neat and tidy. Two stacks of books tower my swivel office chair ... one stack has research resources for whenever I forget the exact archaeological term I need for my novel, and the other, sources for formatting, agents, publishers, etc. And still another smaller pile containing my three "wisdom" guides for that particular story (per Heather Sellers). Oh yes, and I keep a book altar ... I create a mock-up of my novel cover and apply it to the front of any book close to the size of my to-be-finished novel and place it on a book stand. I add a candle, and other symbolic objects that synchronistically appear that reflect objects found in the story. I honor Asian influences, too by placing an orange on the altar and perhaps some other spices.I take revision pages out of this space, generally to a comfortable sitting area or outside. And reading? I love to read in a comfortable big leather chair with my feet up on an ottoman, sunshine streaming in ... or outside under blue skies.
