Thank you for visiting with our troops. Your recognition of these brave men and women means a great deal to me since we have a son who just returned from deployment. We have much to be grateful for this year even though he was brought home under sad circumstances. My mother-in-law (my son's grandmother) passed away the weekend before Thanksgiving, and he was brought home for bereavement leave. He had been all over Northern Iraq for several months & was in Qatar about to leave for Afghanistan when he received the call to come home. His Commanders have chosen to leave him stateside until at least February. Although we were saddened at the loss of my mil, we know she lived 90 good years and feel that this was her last gift to us--bringing our child home to his family and to us for this blessed holiday season. I enjoy reading your books, and I'm sure reading your books brings our soldiers some distraction from the real horror that goes on around them. God Bless our troops and all their families. Many blessings to you and your family during this holiday season and always.(PS: I read your entire article at your website, and you are so right about the need to be thankful for each morning we are given because we never know what life will hand us that day.)
Ramona...it was an honor to be a part of the USO tour. So sorry for your loss but you're so right about her last gift to you all. What a wonderful way to look at it. :D
