Bouchercon 2011 in St. Louis is over; great conference as always and a terrific opportunity to see so many friends and be reminded why authors in this genre are the nicest and most generous folks around. I always come home energized and ready to go back to the work I love. This photo was taken Saturday night when Crusin', Max Allan Collins' terrific band, was performing in the main ballroom and everybody really cut loose. Pictured l-to-r are St. Louis local legends and friends John Lutz, who really knows how to swing dance, and Bob Randisi, who did a great rendition of "Can't Help Falling in Love with You" as one of Max's soloists. Also pictured are Deborah Crombie (we often sit next to each other on bookshelves) and Christine Matthews (Bob's charming wife and sometimes-collaborator). I danced until my feet hurt.
