About this author

The author of five books, Candace E. Salima was born right smack dab in the middle of twelve children. Descended of a long line of artists, musicians and authors, Candace can barely remember a time when reading wasn't an integral part of her life. Her love of books, reading and writing, was born of hearing her mother read nightly from the James Herriot series about a veterinarian's mishaps in the British countryside. She thrived in a family of readers, began writing original stories at the age of eleven and has never looked back. The daughter of a father who survived the invasion of Hitler's war machine in his homeland and a mother who is an often controversial conservative columnist, Candace spent her childhood on the back of a horse or tr...more

A perfect storm of scandals is what Barack Obama faces. Democrats decry the scandals, saying that Republicans are merely politicizing them because Barack Obama is, as Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi gushes to the press, “such a good president.” But let’s face facts, unless you are highly delusional, what America is facing now... Candace Salima Hi Alexander, I've read The 5,000 Year Leap and you're right, it is one of the most amazing books!

Alexander Francis Hello! I know you don't really know me but somehow we became friends on the internet. Anyway, a book was just recommended to me that I think you might be interested in. It is called "The 5000 Year Leap" by W. Cleon Skousen. I haven't read it and my list of books to read is already incredibly long but I hope you enjoy it and if you give a good enough argument for why it is a must read then I might rearrange my queue. I hope you are having a great summer!

Candace Salima Hi Shanda,

Yeah, I'll have to get back out there one of these days. I'm seem to be on the road to SLC a lot these days (okay, I'm going wait until the snow starts to go down a little) and maybe I'll swing by there.

I'd love to be on your podcast. How very fun.

Hope you had wonderful holidays. Christmas is my absolutely favorite time of year.

Have a great day,
Candace

Shanda Hey Candace,

We're technically Riverton here, but so close to Herriman (just a block or so away) that it's easier just to say we're in Herriman. Have you been out here since then? If not, you probably wouldn't recognize it! (Don't take that the wrong way, lol! You are youthful & gorgeous!) It's crazy how much it's changed just since we moved out here 3 1/2 years ago. We'll have to have you on the podcast sometime if you're ever in the area.

Later!

Shanda :)

Shanda Candace,

It made me smile to see you are a Nora Roberts fan. I don't often admit that my 2nd daughter's first & middle names came from Nora Roberts' novels :). I got Jaycie from a novel set in Australia (can't remember the title) and Brenna from her Jewels of the Sun series. I guess she's better off than her older sister- we got her name from Star Trek, lol ;).

Shanda :)

Dianne Ascroft Thanks for your friend request, Candace. I was interested to see that your father survived Hitler's invasion of his country. My book begins in Germany during the Second World War and it's about a young boy who survives the war and is helped by the Red Cross. It's funny how there are always connections between people - even when we've never met.

author, 'Hitler and Mars Bars'

Barbara Hey Candance!
Just wanted to say thanks for the friend request! Nice picture, by the way! You look so pretty! Well, take care and have a great day!
