about this author
I'm the author of 18 novels published in more than eleven languages. I like to write complex stories about relationships between men and women, parents and children, brothers and sisters, and friends. Although the thematic focus of my books often revolves around family, love, compassion and forgiveness, my stories usually feature a combination of suspense, mystery and intrigue.
I live in North Carolina with my significant other, photographer John Pagliuca, and my shelties, Keeper and Jet--the only non-reading members of the household!
My recent releases are "The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes," "Before the Storm" and "Secrets She Left Behind." "Breaking the Silence" will be reissu...more

One afternoon, single mother Sara Weston says that she's going to the store—and never returns. In her absence, she leaves her teenaged son alone with his damaged past and a legacy of secrets.
Keith Weston nearly lost his life in an act of arson. He survived—but with devastating physical and emotional scars. Without his mother, he has no one to help him heal, no money, nothing to live for but the medications that numb his pain. Isolated and angry, his hatred has one tight focus: his half-sister, Maggie Lockwood.
Now the person Keith despises most is the closest thing he has to family—until Sara returns. If Sara returns. . .

description:
Her family's cottage on the New Jersey shore was a place of freedom and innocence for Julie Bauer—until her seventeen-year-old sister, Isabel, was murdered.
It's been more than forty years since that August night, but Julie's memories of her sister's death still shape her world. Now someone from her past is raising questions about what really happened that night. About Julie's own complicity. About a devastating secret her mother kept from them all. About the person who went to prison for Izzy's murder—and the person who didn't.
Faced with questions and armed with few answers, Julie must gather the courage to revisit her past and untangle the complex emotions that led to one unspeakable act of violence on the bay at midnight.

description:
It’s often difficult for me to characterize my books, and Before the Storm is no exception. It’s part suspense, part mystery, and one hundred percent family drama. It’s about how far family members will go to protect one another. It’s about the choices people make that come back to haunt them. And it’s about the gradual unfolding of truths that keep the characters on edge and those pages turning.

Take care and hope to hear from you shortly,
ROGER
The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes finally arrived today. I peeked inside and before I knew it the first two chapters were read... yay! I love a book that pulls me so fast that I'm gone before I realize that I've left:)
Hi. Nice to meet you on Goodreads as well as Redroom today. You've been busy!
If you're not done surfing, come visit my Goodreads page, my Redroom page or my website:
www.marshallbooks.net
Thanks so much for adding me Diane. Your work sound so exciting and adventurous! I know you must be very busy, but if you can I'd love for you to visit my web site, jeanniebarber.com. I'm a novice writer so feel free to make any kind of suggestions, ideas or thoughts to correct it. I’m co-authoring a novel with Patty Wiseman, another friend on Goodreads. We’ve known each other for over 30 years. While you're there, please sign the guestbook, too! There’s also a link to our book you can click on…clairkelley@synthasite.com. This site is brand new and in the editing stage as is our story. Please visit it as well. We’re both very green, but we’ve met so many people on this site willing to reach out and offer advice or a guiding hand, we feel very blessed.
Thanks,
Jeannie
Diane,
I'm so pleased that you extended the invitation to be your friend on Goodreads. What a striking picture you have posted--must be the work of your significant other. Wow.
And what a busy lady you have been. I love the titles of your books! I've sworn off fiction (reading of) for so long because I have no willpower and let it consume my life so there's no time for my day job + writing of, but I'm starting slowly to add it back into my life. I'll keep your wonderful titles in mind.
