Derek Fenner is an artist, educator, and researcher. He is the co-founder of Bootstrap Press and has been involved in the small press community since 2000. After spending ten years as an educator and administrator in the Massachusetts juvenile justice system, he is currently completing a doctoral program at the School of Education at Mills College where he is focusing on utilizing the arts as a mechanism of social justice in school and community settings. His most recent books include I No Longer Believe in the Sun: Love letters to Katie Couric (Bootstrap Press 2009), Wild Schemes (Lew Gallery 2010), and I No Longer Believe in the Northern Lights: A love letter to Sarah Palin (13 b’ak’tun press 2012).
