about this author
I am the author of two "sweet" medieval romances, Loyalty's Web, republished by Leatherwood Press in October 2008, and Illuminations of the Heart, published by Walnut Springs Press in June 2009.
Loyalty's Web was a 2007 Whitney Award Finalist in the Women's/Romance category. Midwest Book Review gave Loyalty's Web an "exceptional" rating, and wrote:
"Loyalty’s Web is an historical tale of intrigue with multiple twists and turns, arranged marriages and true romance. It is a fast-paced, well-written, fascinating read."
Kirkus Reviews: "Torture, blackmail, murder, forbidden love...this historical tale has it all....a sure fire page turner."

"Margaret looked up at him from where she sat by the window.
"Oh, Brother Gregory, what's wrong with your hand"
"I'm just scratching it; it itches."
"Really, is it red?"
"No, it's just a bite. You gave me a flea."
I don't have fleas, Brother Gregory," insisted Margaret.
"Everyone has fleas, Margaret. It's part of God's plan."
"I don't. I wash them off."
"Margaret, you haven't any sense at all. They just hop back. You can't wash enough to keep them off."
"I do."
"Aren't you afraid your skin will come off? It could, you know. That's much worse than fleas." Brother Gregory spoke with an air of absolute certainty.
"Everyone tells me that. It hasn't come off yet."
"Margaret, you're too hardheaded for your own good. Now take for your next sentence, 'Fleas do not wash off.'"
"Is this right?" She held up the tablet, and Brother Gregory shook his head in mock indignation.
"I despair of you, Margaret. Flea is not spelled with one e--it's spelled with two.""
— Judith Merkle Riley (A Vision of Light: A Margaret of Ashbury Novel)

Hey Joyce! When are you going to add your new book to GoodReads so I can add it to my To-Read list?? :) Can't wait for it!
Hi Joyce and thanks for the add. I have a real good friend that lives in Salt Lake! Also, our youngest son lives in Rock Springs, WY and this past summer we flew into Salt Lake and he picked us up for a visit. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Blessings,
Jeannie
