3.333 Ed Warren's interest in the ghosts was jump started early. This was not too surprising because Ed was brought up in a haunted house. There, he saw many troubling events. Ed's father, a devout Catholic, did not accept them as real. Lorraine also had her share of supernatural events as a child. These were a part of Lorraine's early psychic awareness. Married quite young, at eighteen, Ed and Lorraine used their income as artists to fund their trips to haunted houses. During their visits, they kept careful records and when possible, recording of events and the way they helped those who had been unfortunate to meet up with ghosts, curses, black magic and unpleasant activities. The Warrens believe fully in this type of evil, but have an open mind and trust in the ability of people from other faiths and cultures to effectively combat poltergeist, ghostly and satanic activity. In the book Ed says, "If I were in one of the deepest jungles of the world where so-called "primitive" witch doctors of a good nature were present, I would not hesitate for a moment to ask for their help in exorcism rites."
Some of their famous cases are, The Amityville Haunting, the Werewolf, Bill Ramsey, Annabelle the possessed doll, West Point haunting, Lindley Street haunting, The Haunted, The True Story of One Family's Nightmare (Smurls) and the Brookfield Demon Murder (Devil in Connecticut) case. The Warrens founded the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) in 1952 and later the Occult Museum.
