Jaye Tomas has "scribbled" all her life but found her audience growing hugely after she created her Chimera Poetry blog.
Her first Book, 'Nocturnes', was very well received and 'Carnevale' was released with very flattering feedback! Her latest book 'What Lies Beneath' was just published in May 2016.
Jaye loves all things bookish and has a minor obsession with hedgehogs.
Originally from Chicago, she is currently residing in the UK but has begun to cast her eyes in other directions.
"The beauty of the story, she says, is in the journey, not the arrival."

You don’t see it on my face

It’s not in the space usually looked for.
It’s in the words,

language cloaked in a rough and raspy cloth,
to hide the velvet of my heart.
I love you doesn’t come easily,
they stumble and crowd together in my throat,
like clumsy people in large wool coats.
Emerging as;
Be safe.
Where the hell have you been?
Are you hungry?
