Hi Everybody!

Finally! The Today Show piece will air Monday, Sept. 7, in the 8 o’clock hour, probably in the first half of the hour. For those of you who don’t want to miss any beauty sleep, I’ll post it at ClaireCook.com as soon as I can figure out how!

Who knew getting that amazing Today call would turn out to be the easy part. 9 hours of taping followed by 9 weeks of waiting, passing the time answering 9 zillion questions about when it would run! But, barring some last minute earth-shattering news or celebrity-related event (Miley gets a new boyfriend?!?) that requires another rescheduling, the Today piece about my midlife reinvention and including footage from one of my reinvention workshops will actually make it into living rooms across the country.

Not only will it really help get the word out about my books, but I hope the Today story will encourage women everywhere who are contemplating their own reinventions. So thank you so much for spreading the word – I hope you’ll tell your friends to tune in, and mention it on Facebook and Twitter. And when the piece is available online at today.msnbc.com, I hope you’ll forward it to everyone you know!

If you like it, I hope you’ll also let Today know by sending an email to TODAY@nbcuni.com and telling them you’d like to see more stories celebrating real life women. (Feel free to suggest me as a regular reinvention correspondent, too!!) Our stories are important, and sometimes I think we have more power than we realize when it comes to influencing television and movies.
