Born in 1991 in Inverness, Scotland, Emma Maree Urquhart is a Scottish author of urban fantasy who made the headlines after publishing her first novel at the age of 13.
Now 17, she continues writing part-time, and is currently working on a series of books called "The Network", beginning with "The Network 01; Alternative Realities". The stories are a rewrite of her original published works, the "Dragon Tamers" series.

Exam piece, written under timed conditions. The task was to write a story titled "Always Together", and to write about an elderly couple. What resulted is a romantic tale, driven by the clarity of memory and finished with a twist.
Also, as with all exam pieces, the aim is to show a degree of skill with the written word and use as many and varied a lot of literary techniques as you can think of.
1,300 words approx. Not too rough with the critique, please.
