Michelle Sutton's Blog: Edgy Inspirational Author blog about books

The problem is how in the world am I going to find the next few books I'm reading even half as good? That always happens after I blast through a great book. The ones that follow tend to seem boring. Anyway, Jenny B. Jones is my favorite YA author by far. My favorite book of hers is the first in her new series called So Not Happening. I'm So Sure should arrive any day now. YAY! P.S. I don't count myself and my own books in the mix. :)

Lost Mission was pretty profound and I posted a review. There is currently a promotional giveaway for this book on my blogspot blog and there will be a blog tour for the book next week. I am really enjoying Just Another Girl. I think it's a pretty honest book and I love it when authors tell it like it is without worrying about whether or not they will offend someone.

I'm so glad that Goyer is back to writing WWII era fiction, though I prefer her voice solo. This book was a great read despite that. The blended voices worked well and didn't distract at all.

It's interesting in that it's a uniquely written approach to a novel. It's like a story starts out in each chapter in the 1700s and then the story morphs into the modern day. In the beginning it's almost like classic "telling" storytelling like you'd hear in say, "Ella Enchanted" where there is talking in the background.

Both interesting stories but my fav was definitely Seaside Letters. There is just something about Denise Hunter's allegorical themes in her books that turn my crank.

I've heard people say "same old, same old" about ol' Gil meaning that his stories all start to sound alike after awhile. Well, I was at a distinct advantage having never read any of his books prior to this one. Honor in the Dust was FABULOUS!!!! I am thoroughly impressed. Seriously. This story is exceptional.

Anyway, just finished a review for An Eye for An Eye by Irene Hannon if anyone is interested. I am now going back to Dawn's Prelude by Tracie Peterson. I was really enjoying that story when I had to set it aside to finish Hannon's book.

I'm reading one called The Triumph of Deborah but it's more literary feeling to me than I'm used to so I'm not sure how this will go. Waiting for the hook. Finishing up Always Watching by Collins. It's okay so far.
