This book is so flipping good. I loved Delia's Shadow and I can't believe I love Barricade in Hell more. Doesn't seem possible. So well written and such a good story. Love love love.

I'm not sure a three or four star is in order. Here's the thing. There are problems for me with the writing. A lot of things happen quickly, the stuff about her dad and mom lacks depth and so do a lot of her reactions and some of the plot foundations...more

This is just lots of fun. Totally action-packed. There were some issues, but really a fun read. I'm definitely reading the next one in the series.

“Just remember, I am not going anywhere,” he said, still watching her lips. “And if you ever try to hide from me, I will not believe you are dead. I will find you. Count on it.”
Diana Pharaoh Francis, Crimson Wind

“You got a problem?"
"Aside from the fact that we are about to die? No. But I want to say thank you before it is too late.”
Diana Pharaoh Francis, Bitter Night

“There were some days that deserved to be drowned at birth and everyone sent back to bed with a hot brandy, a box of chocolates and a warm, energetic companion. Today was without question one of those days.”
