About this author

Eileen Favorite teaches at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she received her MFA in Writing in 1999. Her poems, essays, and stories have been published in many periodicals. She has received two Illinois Arts Council Fellowships for poetry and prose. Her poetry and essays have aired on WBEZ, Chicago Public Radio. She lives in Chicago with her husband and daughter.

I'm happy to report that 3Arts Entertainment has optioned the film rights for The Heroines. Actress Chloe Moretz (recently the 11-year-old assassin in Kick-Ass) will play the part of Penny. I always knew the novel needed the right young actress to fulfill the part. The next step for my agent, Alicia Gordon, of WME in Los Angeles, is finding a writer-director. Then a studio.
