Jim Pascual Agustin was born in the Philippines. His early years were spent in a communal house, where he struggled to remember all the names of his numerous cousins. His family was forced out of their land to make way for the construction of a highway named after the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos. With the help of an Irish Jesuit, Fr. James O'Brien, Jim was able to enter Ateneo de Manila University. He is a Fellow of the University of the Philippines Writers Workshop and the Iligan Writers Workshop. In October 1994, he moved to Cape Town, South Africa.
He has two poetry books recently released by the University of Santo Tomas Publishing House: Baha-bahagdang Karupukan (Filipino collection) and Alien to Any Skin (English collection).

Horton Heard a Who, No One Hears Me

My online existence has been zapped to oblivion. I am back home in Manila but have no internet access. So all my contacts on various online media seem to be living behind a very high wall while all I have is a spool of thread and a paperclip – I can throw bits of paper stuck to the paperclip but the wind blows it away before it reaches the top of the wall.
