<about><![CDATA[ABOUT THE SECOND NINE MONTHS:
When I came home from the hospital with my first baby, I thought I would be all stoned on maternal bliss. Not. So. Much. I couldn't get her to stop crying, or to sleep, or to nurse. I felt like I was doing everything wrong, like I was the only woman in the known universe who didn't have a maternal gene. I felt terrified that we'd made a horrible mistake having this baby. And, mostly, I felt completely alone. The transition to motherhood was SO hard, so much harder than anyone ever told me it would be. (It was funny, too. In retrospect.) And that's why I wrote this book, so that no new mom would ever feel the way I did. And to help her laugh along the way.

ABOUT ME:
I'm a slightly loud, slightly dramatic mother-of-two in southern New Jersey. I'm a columnist for Women's Health Magazine and a writer at large at Philadelphia Magazine.
