I am a writer. I write for kids, teens and adults. While the age of my reader differs with each book, the stories have common elements - a retelling of myth and legend, and/or a touch of magical intervention. Publisher's Weekly gave my first YA novel, SAVING JULIET, a starred review. Kirkus Reviews called it, "Absorbing, exciting and useful for teachers, too." My taste in literature is eclectic. I want a strong narrative voice. I want to be drawn in immediately. I like a story that moves quickly, I like getting caught up in another time and place. I love funny. Like everyone, my time is limited, so if the story doesn't grab me right away, I don't force myself to finish. Life's too short. I'm looking for recommendations ...more |
