I'm tired and have been experiencing a bad air day.
That is all.
Oh, and I ran out of coffee. The horror!

Nothing accomplished today, but it's Wednesday. And we had power outages.
The heat is on again in North Texas, and I was considering turning off the lights in the office when the lights in the house began to flicker - in time with a series of loud noises outdoors. This could not be good I thought, as the lights flickered off. I finished posting a comment to a web site (thanks to the various battery backups we have) and shut things down. Chris said he looked out the patio door and saw sparks in th

I know I got some things done, but it sure doesn't seem as though I've accomplished much. Mostly, it was catching up on correspondence. Wrote up a short piece that probably won't see the light of day. Went out for coffee. Bought printer ink. Exciting, eh?
Now it's back into research...

Pardon the rambling mumblings today; I'm going on about an hour and ten minutes or so of sleep. The cunning plan is to fall into bed in the next hour. I'm just waiting on the last load of laundry.
Walked into the living room to find not one but two gifts from the cats. Boy, am I special, or what? I think "or what?" sums it up pretty good in their eyes. I even refilled their entertainment center tonight, and do you think I got any thanks?

How often do you blog? Do you try to maintain a schedule, or just blog when you're inspired and have the time? How do memes affect your blogging habits?
I would love to blog every weekday, but that doesn't always work out. Sometimes I post several entries in a day, and sometimes I go several days between posts.
Memes? Well, you see how sketchy I've been at this one.
What it boils down to is the more I have to do, the less time I have to blog. That may be a good thing. Or not, depending on what I h

What a day. I'm getting a few minutes of rest before it's time to start dinner. Drinking mass quantities of water, too.
We went out for our morning coffee and then decided to visit the Friends of the Plano Public Library book sale. I walked home with an armload of books - including enough stuff to revive What Is It? Wednesdays - for a little bit of money. And there was much rejoicing.
Chris presented me with tuition bills, and they got paid. Then he presented me with book lists, and we decided to

I managed to survive the other night. In fact, it didn't take me long to get to sleep after I flopped into bed. Then last night, I slept. Amazing.
There's not much to say other than the fact I've been working to put out virtual fires. I knew this week would be busy. Things should get better next week, I hope.
Sorry for the lack of longer updates. I'll try for more later.

It's Tuesday, technically, but there ya go.
Still swamped with database-type stuff. Today was a madhouse with many little fires to put out. By the time I was ready for bed I was dead tired and decided to help things along by trying a little lavender spray on the pillow. Maybe it works, but not for me. I did get to sleep, but woke up with an asthma attack. I'm just now recovering from that, so it'll be a long night. Again. I won't be able to lay down until the sinuses have mostly cleared out.

Well, it seems that I "broke" the archive page. It's fixed, now.
Sorry about that.

We've all become used to automated phone routers ("To continue in English, press 1"), long waits at government offices and other bureaucratic obstacles to getting something done. Have you any particular horror stories along these lines, or have you had mostly good experiences with government agencies?
I haven't had to deal with government agencies much lately over the phone. Chris has his own tale to tell about getting his class schedule together for college this year, and it seems to be a tale t
