Seriously. I'm trying to figure this out. Maybe I can't stand the heat. Perhaps I tire of of people hiding behind masks of anonymity questioning my motives. It could be that, above everything else, I tire of people trading heated accusations, castigating their neighbors for perceived prejudice, simply because they don't see eye-to-eye.

I knew this morning was going to be rough, even after the Ibuprofen. I couldn't make my average all morning. My muscles ache from all the work I've done in the home office over the past week. I accepted a bad day of bowling as a consequence.
But tonight was another story. I'd taken it easy this afternoon. Drove to the bowling alley and was nearly hit twice by people who thought it would be just fine and dandy to make a left turn while I was legally in the intersection. (That happened at lunch...

...but the whole organization project will probably slow down as I ramp up for a big meeting this weekend.
So, what have I done? I got the credenza entirely clean and moved a networked printer over there. I moved the multifunction machine taking up space on the shelving on my desk to the spot formerly occupied by the printer. I put some stuff in boxes and labeled the boxes so I can see what's in them at a glance. Moved furniture, dusted, vacuumed.
And I found some space on my desk!

Slow progress is ... slow.
Today's job involved clearing off the credenza and rearranging a small portion of my desk.
The credenza took forever as I discovered some items had slipped down behind and the only way I could get them out was to move the massive piece of furniture. This required partially unloading it and bringing in the heavy duty dolly to move it a whopping two inches from the wall so I could reach down and retrieve the items. Then I had to put everything back.
Much more dusting ens...

Do you tend to settle in one place and stay there, or do circumstances or inclination dictate that you move fairly often across the street or across the country? Do you feel you've found your "forever" locale, if not your "forever" home?
We tend follow the boring route and not move around. We found a nice apartment before we got married (Paul moved in and I joined him on our wedding day. See? Very boring and conventional) and we stayed there until we found Stately Barrett Manor. We've been ens...

Once again, it's time to reorganize the home office. It's something I do depressingly often.
Today I am actually clearing out mountains of cr@p and rearranging some things to make more workspace. I'm not sure if it'll all work out, but I won't know until I try. And if nothing else, I'm clearing out a LOT of dust. Bad for me today, but very good for me in the long run.
If I get to the point where the stuff looks decent I'll post a picture or two.
And yes, this means I've hit a blissful lull in ...

I think the con crud is finally relaxing its grip on me. I woke up this morning feeling like I wanted to do stuff. I'm going to take it easy today, though. It's times like this when I'm most vulnerable to a relapse. I feel like I can tackle the world and I darn near do, which drives me back down.
I need to get out and run errands today, but that'll be later. This morning I'm just going to catch up on a few things, grab some lunch, and sigh over my messy desk.

Now you can!
FenCon is making available a series of videos from the convention. Keep an eye on their channel for more.
The Dead Conchair Sketch is also online. Pay no attention to that 2010 conchair behind the curtain.

Technology can be a wonderful thing - until some folks unwittingly use it wrong and tick off a whole lot of people without knowing it.
The latest uber annoying use of technology is the feature in the Twitter API that allows for timed posting of status updates. I'm watching a guy right now autoposting the same eight (yes, eight) tweets once an hour. I'm trying to decide whether or not to nudge him with a short direct message or just drop him. He used to be interesting, which is why I followed ...

I sort of got through the writing book. In the parlance of the publishing industry, it's not for me. Judging from the reviews at Amazon, the book was just the ticket for some folks in a similar situation.
In other words, I'm not going to get snarky and name the book or the author, even though the first part had some serious issues, IMO.
So what's next? I'm going to bed. With a book. I bought several today to just read. And that's my cunning plan for the next few days. I want to do nothing but ...
