The mortgage payment is about to go down - by 62 cents. Oh, how shall I put this money back into the economy?
Ideas?
Ideas?

Dang it, I just realized I hadn't really recapped my trip out to LA for The Leap Back 2009.
Thursday I was up at dark thirty to make the trek to the airport. Missed the exit and looped around a couple of times, nearly getting flattened by a pickup truck whose driver thought nothing of going 60 on the shoulder. Yield to oncoming traffic? What's that? Security was a breeze, which meant I had over an hour to wait for boarding. I did buy a book for the flight, but couldn't bring myself to buy it at

Via Lee Goldberg, Lewis has been given the axe because it was too expensive to produce. I'd heard that about Wire in the Blood already, but Lewis? I guess those Oxford location shoots cost too much money. Sigh.
And
clearly, I get invited to all the wrong parties. But I'd just been a
quivering mass of fangirl, so it's probably a good thing.

It's pushing 3:00, and I haven't done a thing. But that's okay, considering the night I had.
Woke up to an asthma attack at 1:30, but I was so tired that I couldn't get awake enough to tell whether I was still dreaming or something was really wrong. Got back to sleep about 4:30 and then the alarm went off at 7. I couldn't find the sleep switch, much to Paul's dismay, I'm sure. I finally got out of bed and had a breathing treatment, woke the kid up, then slept until nearly noon. Ugh.

I've been working on tweaking the layout today. I'm not entirely happy with it, so bear with me. One big fix is a new version for lower-resolution browsers. I have a Javascript that should detect that and redirect. The archive page has been slightly revamped and should work better with lower-resolution browsers as well.
And yes, some of the widgets have undergone an update. There's also a new and improved Absolute Write blogroll.
Those of you visiting with low-resolution (less than 1024 width) sys

As I do some reformatting on the journal.
Essentially, I'm pulling the CSS apart and starting over. Ouch. It needs to be done, though.

Spring, and especially Easter, is a time of renewal, of new life after a time of darkness and decay (think of the long nights, and all those fallen leaves!). What is new - or renewed in your life this spring?
I just renewed the patio last weekend, replacing dead annuals with new, and cleaning. Not that you can tell today that it's been cleaned, but I did do it! I enjoy the patio when the weather is good. We eat evening meals when the temperature is tolerable, and I like to go out and write in the

Last night wasn't terribly good, and then tonight the ozone level at one station in Dallas hit level purple (I suppose that means they have to change the light bulb) sometime after 7:00.
What gives? I think it's the wildfires. Prevailing winds today were from the north and northwest (fires are in NW Texas and in OK), and the smoke just hung in the air today.
Ironic, since the city of Dallas is now pretty much officially smoke free as of a couple of hours ago. The smokers are up in arms. I have mi
