About this author

Robert Arellano is the author of six novels. Akashic Books publishes Fast Eddie, King of the Bees (2001), Don Dimaio of La Plata (2004), Havana Lunar (2009, Edgar Award finalist 2010), and Curse the Names (2012). Soft Skull/Counterpoint published a graphic-novel tribute to Mexican comic books, Dead in Desemboque (2008, writing as Eddy Arellano with artists William Schaff, Richard Schuler, & Alec Thibodeau). In 1996, writing as Bobby Rabyd, Arellano created the Internet's first interactive novel, Sunshine '69. Arellano has taught writing, literature, and digital media at Brown University, the Rhode Island School of Design, the Institute of American Indian Arts, the University of New Mexico, and Southern Oregon University.

Albuquerque Journal reviewer Robert Woltman writes of Curse the Names: "Think Hunter Thompson doing Fear and Loathing in Los Alamos. Readers, fasten your seat belts for this one. There's good stuff in all the fiction and poetry, and Robert Pinsky's poem in particular blew me away. Editor Joyce Carol Oates's introduction makes a handy overview for a class on American noir.
