About this author

Tim Kane is the chief economist at the Hudson Institute. He was the lead editor of the 2007 Index of Economic Freedom, co-published by the Wall Street Journal and the Heritage Foundation and is the author of the forthcoming ‘Bleeding Talent’ (Palgrave Macmillan). Kane is currently co-authoring a book ‘Balance: Why Great Powers Lose It and How America Can Regain It’ with Glenn Hubbard. Kane has started numerous technology companies; most recently StoryPoint.co. Kane was born in Michigan, raised in Ohio, and served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.
