Tim Kane is the chief economist at the Hudson Institute. He was the lead editor of the 2007 Index of Economic Freedom, co-published by the Wall Street Journal and the Heritage Foundation and is the author of the forthcoming ‘Bleeding Talent’ (Palgrave Macmillan). Kane is currently co-authoring a book ‘Balance: Why Great Powers Lose It and How America Can Regain It’ with Glenn Hubbard. Kane has started numerous technology companies; most recently StoryPoint.co. Kane was born in Michigan, raised in Ohio, and served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.

Seems like Martin really hit his stride with this book. I am really absorbed in the world he has created, and finding it difficult to savor the pages. That's a sign of a great book.
