About this author

I have always loved reading. I grew up in a house filled with books and finding the closest public library was the first priority after every move. I enjoy a wide range of books, but as a child my favourites always had an elment of fantasy. Oz, Narnia and Middle-Earth were places I visited many times. It was almost inevitable that a hint of magic would creep into my own writing.

Come and help Pear Jam Books celebrate their first birthday at the St Heliers library, this Saturday at 11am.

This is a fast-paced adventure story set in a flooded future world. It is well-written, with engaging characters and I would probably give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I had some problems with the plot. The world of the story was interesting and well...more

I didn't enjoy this book as much as I was hoping given the setting. The idea of a child knowing only the world of a Thai womens' prison being suddenly sent out into an unfamiliar world was intriguing. I did enjoy the characters and the writing, but I...more

" Somewhat inappropriately billed as a Cinderella story, there’s not much resemblance to the classic fairy tale in this story of Luchi Ann, a young American teen born and raised in a women’s prison in rural Thailand. When her mother dies, Luchi must... "
