About this author

I came to Chicago in 1990 by way of Columbus Ohio. I decided, on a whim, to visit Chicago during spring break. I had just completed an emotionally taxing year at The Ohio State School of Law, and I desperately needed an escape. In three days I had such a great time in Chicago that during the summer, again on a whim, I decided to move here. I’ve been here ever since.

My first impressions of Chicago were that the city was large, but not overcrowded, there were plenty of places to party without having to go broke, and it was more like being in many little cities, one second you’re driving through a neighborhood with a Greek flavor, the next second Mexican, then Black, then Irish. I met and saw a lot of interesting characters. The funniest thing...more

THE ANALYST: Story One of the Chicago Democratic National Convention - 2020 (Science Fiction & Fantasy)
0 chapters   —   updated Jun 07, 2012 12:52pm
Description: The year is 2019. The city of Chicago is preparing to host the Democratic National Convention. Bryce Anderson, a policy analyst with the Great Lakes Research & Policy Center at UIC, has been asked to help build support for the Balancing Work with Life policy agenda. He did the research, but persuasion requires soft skills. Neither his usual technologies, nor his secret experimental one, can supplement his weaknesses in this area. He fails miserably until he receives help from a mysterious hacker called CBX. THE ANALYST is the first story of the Chicago Democratic National Convention 2020 series. In this compelling fictionalized view of the great city of Chicago in the future, issues in the areas of education, immigration, health, labor, and security will be explored through page turning stories.
