description: Short Contemporary Romantic Comedy Novel. Nikki St. James is at the end of the rope she bought to kidnap her rat fiancé's best man. Determined to convince her fiancé to set a wedding date instead of spending his days sucking up to her rich father, Nikki fakes an affair with their best man, Alex Hart, and whisks Alex to secluded Lake Eden along with the zany trio of pets she can't bear to leave behind. Except...her fiancé doesn't rush to win her back. And Alex, a stick-in-the-mud history professor, clearly thinks she's off her rocker. Alex is a victim of nose-to-the-grindstone-itis. Sure, he needs a break from his quest to achieve tenure at warp speed—but on his terms, not a wacky blonde's! Before long, however, he realizes Nikki isn’t the wild party girl his old college buddy described. She's cute and sweet and...well, soon Alex is stealing her away for love and forever and all she deserves... copyright June 2007 ISBN-13: 978-1-60272-982-7
