This novel drew me in, both with the interesting characters, writing, and paranormal elements. I was surprised by the end of the book, because it seemed like it tapped into a suicide of sorts, but with paranormal elements twisted into it. I was more ...more

Shaunda Wenger is reading Orphan Train: I enjoyed this story, but found the switching back and forth between third- person present-day foster child and first-person historic orphan to be jarring. Both stories could have been told in this woven style in the first person because the characters were so different. But overall, fascinating. Although I felt the book ended just before we would have delved into the real emotional heart of the story.
