About this author

I'm an author based in the north of England. Although I've spent most of my working life in schools and libraries, I've also had seven children's books published, as well as about 40 stories in women's magazines.
In 2012 I set up a child-friendly story website, Megamousebooks.com, to offer free online stories, downloadable ebooks and puzzles. It's proving a full-time job, but a very enjoyable one.

The tide of new free ebooks being published on Smashwords just keeps pouring in. As before, I've been trawling through it for children's books (not picture books) that are decently written and enjoyable to read, for ages about 6 to 12.
These ones are worth a try: click on the title to be taken to the Smashwords page.
