Poet, writer, literary critic. Since 1947 he lives in Great Britain. He published poetry in Polowanie na jednorożca (London 1956), Widok Delft (Kraków 1973), prose in Akt (Londyn, 1964), Koncert życzeń (Warszawa, 1991), Fragmenty niespokojnego dzieciństwa (Londyn 1995) and esseys: Liryka i druk (Londyn 1972), Krótkopis (Katowice 1998), Światy umowne (Warszawa 2001). He translated Wisława Szymborska, Tadeusz Różewicz, Leopold Staff and Cyprian Norwid's poetry. He got many literary awards including Kościelscy Foundation Award, Birtish Council Award, Turzańscy Foundation Award.
