""That was the goth stage, where I decided I'd never get the girl of my dreams because of my scars. Not to mention my hairstyle. (pause)But then she slammed a door handle into my gut. And when a girl does that to a boy,it means she likes him.""

""Oh baby," he whispers. Steps back. Out of the doorway. His face ashen. He walks slowly back to the kitchen. Leans over the counter. Puts his head in his hands. His hair falls over his fingers.
The bathroom door clicks shut.
She stays there for a long time.
He's pulling his hair out. "

"WAKE
Dealing with an alcoholic single mother and endless hours of working at Heather Nursing Home to raise money for college, high-school senior Janie Hannagan doesn’t need more problems. But inexplicably, since she was eight years old, she has been pulled in to people’s dreams, witnessing their recurring fears, fantasies and secrets. Through Miss Stubin at Heather Home, Janie discovers that she is a dream catcher with the ability to help others resolve their haunting dreams. After taking an interest in former bad boy Cabel, she must distinguish between the monster she sees in his nightmares and her romantic feelings for him. And when she learns more about Cabel’s covert identity, Janie just may be able to use her special dream powers to help solve crimes in a suspense-building ending with potential for a sequel. McMann lures teens in by piquing their interest in the mysteries of the unknown, and keeps them with quick-paced, gripping narration and supportive characters."

Hey, Lisa. Thanks for doing that twitter chat room thing today. I learned so much about you today! Your a terrific writer and auther! Hope your other story go well!
-- LaurenNature
Hey, I've read both Wake and Fade, and I honestly think that they were excelent fantisy fiction books!
PS: I'm into writing stories my self, or as you would probably say, I'm an aspiring author. I think your writing styles very captivating!
Good morning Lisa! I am so bummed out that I missed your signing on 6/20 in AZ. I had no idea it was in my neighborhood until I read your blog post. Will you be doing another signing in AZ again soon?
Thanks for your friendship Lisa.
I am originally from Iran and due to the recent events all my focus has been on the demonstrations. I will try to be back to my wonderful new friends on Goodreads again.
Thanks again for your email with advice! By your taking time to respond to me, I went to Barnes & Noble and bought your books Wake and Fade. Well, for some unknown reason, every time I am at Barnes & Noble, people always randomly approach me and ask me for my recommendations for books. Why? I have no idea, but honestly the last three times I've been there I've been approached by someone I don't know asking me what books I like.
The reason I'm telling you this is because yesterday while I was picking up your book, again I was approached. The lady that came up to me saw your books in my hands and I told her of your kindness and the time that you took for me. She then (being touched also by your story of kindness) bought your books for herself and for her mother; it was her mother's birthday.
So, thank you! And I'm glad to have been able to refer your book!
Thanks for the add!! I LOVED Wake, and I am about to start reading Fade. I know I am going to love that too. Then I will just have to impatiently wait for Gone to come out... <sigh>
Hey Miss. Mcmann, i just finished fade. It was just as good if not better than the first. I read it in like 2 sittings. lol. You are an amazing author/writer. I realy love the way you narrated the whole book. I can't wait to read the books you write in the future. :)
I just wanted to say that I think you're an amazing author. I read soo many books and Wake & Fade both have spots in my top ten favorites. I sort my books on shelves by favorites, both of yours are on the top shelf. I lend my books to friends all the time, and whenever I lend them yours, they always say they loved it and it's one of their favorites, too. They always ask, "When's the next one coming out ?" And whe I tell them 2010, they groan and say it's too long. I agree ! Haha.
Keep writing and being amazing !
Hey Lisa...it seems you work as hard as I do...http://www.billhazelgrove.com

Hi Lisa and thanks for adding me as a new friend on Goodreads. I love the pix of you. Has anyone ever told you you favor Meg Ryan??? I see you're a very busy lady, but if you have the time, I'd love for you to visit my web site, jeanniebarber.com. I'm a novice writer so feel free to make any kind of suggestions, ideas or thoughts to correct it. I’m co-authoring a novel with Patty Wiseman, another friend on Goodreads. We’ve known each other for over 30 years. While you're there, please sign the guestbook, too! There’s also a link to our book you can click on…clairkelley@synthasite.com. This site is brand new and in the editing stage as is our story. Please visit it as well. We’re both very green, but we’ve met so many people on this site willing to reach out and offer advice or a guiding hand, we feel very blessed.
Thanks,
Jeannie
