About this author

Wayne Swanson was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta, the heart of Canada’s West. As a child, he went hiking, camping, and skiing, and read adventure classics such as Tom Sawyer and Treasure Island. As an adult, a visit to the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum in Los Angeles led to the realization that the stories of the Western culture he had loved while growing up weren’t being told to the current generation of children.
