About this author

Corey Redekop has been many things: actor, waiter, disc jockey, cameraman, editor, lawyer (almost), and now the fabled trifecta of publicist/librarian/author. His debut novel, Shelf Monkey, awarded the Gold Medal for Popular Fiction at the 2008 Independent Book Publisher Awards and proclaimed one of the Top 40 Essential Canadian Novels of the Decade by CBC and Canada Reads, is either a work of insane genius or an intolerable left-wing screed, depending on which review you read. His second novel, Husk (ECW Press, 2012), was declared one of the Top Books of 2012 by the editors of Amazon.ca. 2012.Stunningly handsome, supremely talented, superbly gifted at hyperbole, Corey abides in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

“I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it.”
John Stuart Mill

“And on the subject of burning books: I want to congratulate librarians, not famous for their physical strength or their powerful political connections or their great wealth, who, all over this country, have staunchly resisted anti-democratic bullies who have tried to remove certain books from their shelves, and have refused to reveal to thought police the names of persons who have checked out those titles.

So the America I loved still exists, if not in the White House or the Supreme Court or the Senate or the House of Representatives or the media. The America I love still exists at the front desks of our public libraries.”
Kurt Vonnegut, A Man Without a Country

crafty_puppy You've read a bazillion books I have never heard of. Hmmm. How many books do you read a week?
I read about 40 pages an hour, and only read about one novel a week, plus 2-4 nonfictions.
I liked how you rated your own book as 5 stars. That's adorable.

crafty_puppy The trivia questions are addicting! how many have you answered so far? don't you have other things to do besides answer trivia?! =) just kidding. I am procrasting writing a paper right now.

Kate Love that Vonnegut quote. And thanks for pointing me to Millet. I've added a bunch of her books to my to-read list.
