Goodreads Author

Member Since
September 2008

Kelley Armstrong has been telling stories since before she could write. Her earliest written efforts were disastrous. If asked for a story about girls and dolls, hers would invariably feature undead girls and evil dolls, much to her teachers' dismay. All efforts to make her produce "normal" stories failed.

Today, she continues to spin tales of ghosts and demons and werewolves, while safely locked away in her basement writing dungeon. She's the author of the NYT-bestselling "Women of the Otherworld" paranormal suspense series and "Darkest Powers" young adult urban fantasy trilogy, as well as the Nadia Stafford crime series. Armstrong lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband, kids and far too many pets.

He won't like being away at college by himself, even if it's only for a single term (as they discuss in Atoning) but he'll survive.
I wouldn't say he's significantly better looking now, but that doesn't mean no girl would notice him. He'd treat it the same way Clay does--or Elena or Chloe. He's found what he's wants to purchase so he's done shopping ;)(less)

She’s definitely not the first to survive. There are bios of a few others in the Legacy, which Xaviere illustrated for Becoming. In the books, Elena isjust the only known one currently alive, and that’s just because so few people–of either sex–survive a bite. Clay’s case was unique. He sought it out, which helped. Being young helped–more resilient, rolling with the changes rather than fighting...

“Derek caught my arm again as I started to move--at this rate, it was going to be as sore as my injured one.
"Dog," he said, jerking his chin toward the fenced yard. "It was inside earlier."
Expecting to see a Doberman slavering at the fence, I followed his gaze to a little puff of white fur, the kind of dog women stick in their purses. It wasn't even barking, just staring at us, dancing in place.
"Oh, my God! It's a killer Pomeranian." I glanced up at Derek. "It's a tough call, but I think you can take him.”

“He pivoted, gaze following me as I crossed to the shower and turned on the cold water, so it would drown out our conversation without steaming up the room.
Great," he muttered."Now they're going to think we're showering together. Maybe we can just tell them we were washing off the crawl space dirt and trying to conserve water.”

Judith Bellemare Hi Kelley,

I only wanted to let you know that I appreciate your work and that you are in fact, one of my favourite authors. As an adult, I particularly enjoyed the series in Cainsville, and I'm looking forward to the next book.
Having read a lot of in fantastic literature, I can honestly tell you that you have a great writing style and a very flourishing imagination. Also, the fact that you introduce the heroes universe very smoothly doesn't make the reader feel like he's "simple" and this is something that I can't say about many of your fellow writers.

It's also great to be able to read a book where the action is taking place (sometimes) in Canada. I've been living in Scotland for two years now and reading the "Gathering" made me miss the generous nature we have in Canada. So, thank you for making my life more enjoyable, one book at the time.

Jesse Hi Kelley, I literally just finished Thirteen and wanted to say thank you for a wonderful end to one of my all-time favorite series! I'm glad there are still short pieces you plan on releasing that fit into the Otherworld, but I'm also excited to fall in love with your new projects. Savannah and Adam have always been two of my very favorite characters and I was happy to get to "ride along" with them for the last hurrah. Thank you for the years of enjoyment and characters that are too real to ever completely fade away. -Jesse
