They're a literary couple, but I'll always think of them as embodied by William Powell and Myrna Loy on the big screen. They're an opposites-attract power couple who is deeply in love, yet they aren't afraid to tease each other. They have one of the most entertaining, and satisfying, marriages depicted in the movies. They're legendary for their drinking, but they also manage to solve a few crimes here and there, too. I love them!(less)

The California Dreamin’ writers conference is over, but I’m still flying high from all the amazing people I met, information I gleaned, and inspiration I gained at the conference. California is breathtaking this time of year–green and blooming because there was actually rain this year. I’ll be dreaming about it and all my wonderful conference friends and takeaways for a long time to come.

My first Jack Reacher novel. Very readable. Had a few surprising twists. Reacher is a weirdly likable character. Extreme competence plus a heart of gold makes a winning combo.
