Annie is a short, dog-obsessed, ketchup-loving romantic who splits her days—and her wardrobe—between her hometown, St. Louis, and her adopted love, Galway, Ireland.

Her first book was the start of the USA Today-recommended Hearts Out of Water series followed by the Amazon chart-soaring novella series, The Hummingbird Saga.

When she's not writing, she's usually reading, editing for awesome YA author clients, and walking Lucy, the rottie mix.

Once I became a young adult and started reading YA, I fell in love with the genre, and even when I moved out of the age group, it was still my favorite genre. There's just something exciting and freeing and open about YA literature that's missing in adult fiction. So, that was my progression to publishing YA fiction! :)(less)

While in Reykjavik recently, we had the incredible opportunity to visit Langjökull, the second-largest of Iceland’s four glaciers. We’d passed the glacier on several other tours, and that was one of the most surreal experiences. You’re looking out the window at the mountains and the vast sky above, when something twinges in your brain and you realize that […]

“Time has a way of binding us. Months turn into years against our will.”
Annie Cosby, Learning to Swim

“Come sit, dear," the old woman said. "We were just discussing kelpies and changelings."

I turned a delightfully amused face at Ronan, hoping to see him embarrassed to be caught in a world of fantasy, but his face was impassive, completely unperturbed. Those were the hardest boys to ignore: the ones that weren't concerned with your opinion of them, not afraid to be caught listening to fairytales.”
Annie Cosby, Learning to Swim

“Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.”
Groucho Marx, The Essential Groucho: Writings For By And About Groucho Marx

“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
C.S. Lewis

“It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.”
Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

“Books are a uniquely portable magic.”
Stephen King, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft

“When I fall in love, it will be forever.”
Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility: The Screenplay
